And for the student filmmakers who want to see your masterpiece on the bigscreen, SM Cinema is inviting you to join Bigshot! The contest is open to all student movie makers from any university or college. Movie can be a full-length or short film but not animated. And just right after the Metro Manila Film Festival, the best of the bests movie will be shown on January 2011.

5. Samsung Bada Developer Challenge

Samsung has recently launched their smartphone platform called Bada, a Korean word which means ocean. Samsung aims to open and extend a new smartphone market. Samsung Wave is their first-Bada powered smartphone.

And to bring a new blue ocean of mobile applications, Samsung is calling our mobile applications developers to take the their challenge! A total prize of $2,700,000 is to be given away with $300,000 as the grand prize at the Global Challenge. Philippines is also organizing its own regional challenge!

In the regional challenge, you can take home as much as P150,000 plus a revenue share in excess of 3,000 downloads of the winning entry in the Professional segment or Php 70,000 cash prize for winning entry under Amateur/Student segment.

Globe Labs, Forum Nokia and Nokia Philippines join force in launching Code Spark program that provides incentives for mobile applications developer in building new and innovative mobile applications. Next killer applications can get as much as P 25,000 cash and brand new Nokia smartphones.

Your application must comply with the program’s theme, Innovating for the Connected Filipino, and should connect to the Internet either via GPRS/3G to deliver its core functionality using S40 Nokia Platforms using Java MIDP 2.0 or S60 Nokia Platforms using Symbian C++/QT, WRT or FlashLite.
