San Marino Tuna Paella

If there’s one thing from me to love about Marian Rivera, it is definitely her strong power in advertising that entices every one to buy the (in)famous corned tuna, San Marino.

I could still remember how frustrated I was when the product had just been launched and I could find any can of San Marino corned tuna from the known groceries in Metro Manila and here in home province Bulacan. I’ve searched Landmark, South Supermarket, SM Supermarket and UltraMega but only after six attempts I’ve found the precious processed fish on a Waltermart branch and bought cans of it. I’ve speculated that the threatened competitor owner of Century Tuna took an organized sabotage plan.

San Marino again launched another fishy breakthrough – an instant tuna paella on can. It costs less than 30 pesos and won’t hurt one’s pocket at least for a try. I usually crave for a midnight snack for I’m a nocturnal.

San Marino tuna paella is yet another alternative for instant noodles and corned-tuna-mixed-with-egg I cook. 30 pesos may go far from a carinderia but if only your own kitchen could welcome your hunger, then a serving of San Marino tuna paella is a solution. The ratio of the instant serving size is comparable to a Lucky Me Mac-and-Cheese to a full order of a macaroni-and-cheese dish. In short, “bitin”. I usually know Paella with dry texture of rice but in this case, take in some spoonful of rice drenched in sauce. It is still delicious though but defeated the healthy purpose of tuna because of the oil.
