When supposedly I should only be proving my graduate thesis during my remaining semesters at UP Diliman, I found myself devoting my time in serving the Engineering students big time. When the main reason of taking masters is to move ahead as I step back in the corporate world, I found myself working with a great team of public service. Masters. Servants. One of the ironies of life that I like.
We came from different Engineering courses, idealogies, walks of life and you bet, age! I just crossed the quarter-life crisis while some of them are still teenagers. But you wouldn’t notice it when you see us. We’re close with and open to each other. Close. Open. Yeah. Like.
It was the college who elected the forty-three of us. Yet I may say, it is the genius work of fate that chose us to be as one and a super one.
SUPER ONE Hundred
We are the centennial Engineering Student Council. On every work we do, we always think and put P.U.S.O. in practice. Prestige. Unity. Student-Oriented. In celebration of the College of Engineering’s one-hundred years of existence and excellence, we conduct programs and projects that would benefit not just the Engineering but the other young leaders outside Engineering as well. We aim to prove that the college is more than just being the largest in number but the fiercest and best college of the university.
Right after we’ve been inducted, several projects and events lined up for us. We spearheaded the commencement exercises and tribute parties for the graduates, organized and opened the centennial celebration of the college, assembled the departments and institutes in a sportsfest, called everyone in a recreational run and recently gathered Engineering students of different universities in a vision to build the nation.
SUPER as ONE
But more than the goals we have set, it is the bonding we have formed and continuously building that I won’t forget. This is one of the best friendships I have yet.
Think of yuppies of my age going out at night for a beer or two and thinking of how to impress the boss or means to earn higher salary. It is a different case of mine today where I dine in, converse and oversleep with the kids to plan projects and programs for execution for at least 6,000 students. When superiors of corporate world tend to detach themselves to be someone to look up by the employees,
Even though we’re dumped with things to do and appointments to attend, we make sure that we’re not outdated with the recent movies. Every one of us wouldn’t forget that we once watched Iron Man 2 in quorum and took pictures inside the mall as a block like we’re in a field trip.
We enjoy eating and drinking at Maharlika and Katipunan strips. It is from them where I learned restaurants and stalls having great value for money which I haven’t discovered before when I was undergraduate. There was also this time that we hopped at three locations for booze and more booze and ended up still in good character the next day.
And the most exciting part — when the members of the council fall in and fall out of love to each other. If there are people that could understand (and love) the ESC members more, they are the people inside the council themselves. As much as I wanted to be involved in the love polygons, I rather observed and shared my two cents.
To know more about what the Engineering Student Council does, visit our official website, EnggIsko.Net. I can assure you that ESC deserves to be called a Super One! I normally took the pictures of the events but I am lucky to find pictures of me and my gang.
Here in Engineering Student Council
Prestige. Unity. Student-Oriented is our seal
When to serve the college is our main drill
We can be in an up or downhill
But it’s always part of the thrill
Pag-ibig at romansa, dito ma-fi-feel
Di ba nga, meron kaming Bri at Cecil?
At kay Ron na suki ng Deal or No Deal?
Magaling sa trabaho, masaya pag chill
Ganyan ang Engineering Student Council

Awwwww. Jonaaaaaaas, ibang level! Ang sweeeet. ESC SOLID! This is where we forge the strongest bonds. <3
*hugs*
